FBA inbound placement service fee

Hello ,

As I see with the new Amazon taxes FBA inbound placement service fee is just for fun, There is the option to Amazon Optimeze the shipment split if you have more than 5 boxes, you can get 4 different locations. But I have 19 boxes minimum of 45 LB every box and Amazon gives me the option to 2-3 locations with a nice fee.

My question is why is the option to optimeze the shipment split if I never get that? This is not the first time when I have sent 18-20 boxes and never give me 4 locations...

Because.....

We've seen that 5+ boxes doesn't always work to get no inventory placement fee shipping. And our last batch of shipouts -- all workflows that had the no placement fee shipping option was actually cheaper overall to send to 1-2 locations.

Hello @Seller_lnlxK1hidaAqS

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

I wanted to give you some points that may affect the distribution System

Amazon's Optimization Algorithm: The optimization algorithm Amazon uses to determine the number of shipping locations is complex and not entirely transparent. Even if you meet the criteria for 4 locations (e.g., having more than 5 boxes), Amazon's system may still determine that 2-3 locations are more optimal for their network based on various factors.

Inventory Balancing: Amazon likely considers inventory balancing and distribution needs across their fulfillment network when deciding on the number of shipping locations. They may prioritize distributing your inventory to the locations where it is most needed, rather than strictly adhering to the box count threshold.

Fulfillment Center Capacity: The available capacity at individual fulfillment centers may also play a role in the number of locations offered. If certain centers are nearing capacity, Amazon may limit the number of locations to optimize their operations.
