Our current cases regarding button cell battery compliance in toys are:

Looking over the cases, we are still requiring that the requested documentation be provided to verify compliance. Looking at the related products associated with these cases, they appear to be key-chain flashlights, which per our button cell battery help page is required to provide documentation and proof of compliance.

Our policy for consumer products with button cell or coin batteries

We require that all consumer products with button cell or coin batteries that fall under 16 CFR Part 1263 have been tested to and comply with the regulations, standards, and requirements listed below.

Examples of consumer products with button cell batteries include, but are not limited to, the following: calculators, cameras, flameless candles, flashing clothing, shoes, holiday ornaments, key-chain flashlights, musical greeting cards, remote controls, and watches.

Documentation requirements:

All of the following:

  • 16 CFR PART 1263—Safety standard for button cell or coin batteries and consumer products containing such batteries
  • ANSI/UL 4200A (Safety standard for products incorporating button or coin cell batteries)

Due to our requirements we will need you to submit these documents for proof of compliance and reactivation of the listings.

Thank you for the response. The products are classified for import by the US government as toys and are toy safety tested for children 6+, meeting all of the toy safety requirements.

Amazon may want to classify our products as key chain flashlights, but they are classified as toys.
