using existing listing
Hello, I am listing a similar product that is listed on amazon. According to amazon i should not create a new listing but use an existing one. Out of nowhere the title of the listing was changed that did not reflect the current item being listed,. I have tried changing it and wait 24 hours but nothing happens. WHen i ask for help to get it changed, i am told im not the listing owner so i cant change it. It seems like the listing owner stopped selling the product and is not messing with the listing for no reason. Does everyone just create a new listing even if there is something similar already listed?

You are NOT allowed to list a similar product on an existing listing. It has to be the exact same product, the exact same brand. You can NOT sell Pepsi-Cola on a Coca-Cola listing.
You MUST create a new listing if your exact same product with the exact same brand does not already exist. If you search "cell phone case" for example, there are "over 100'000 results". You agree that these are all similar but that they cannot be listed all on ONE listing.

A problem you may run in to if you create a new listing is the product identifier, such as upc, may still be tied to the listing that the title was changed on.

Thanks for the post here @Seller_ukQDz9RL7GYcf- sounds like you've received from good guidance from the other sellers in the thread. To confirm, unless an item is a totally new product, listing the item against the existing listing is the correct path. If you are not the owner of the product detail page, you can suggest edits via this tool here.
If that doesn't work, creating a case with support is likely your best next step. Have you already spoken with that team?
Thanks!

Sorry, i meant the exact same thing product. I have tried seller support to ask them to look at the title of the listing and you can clearly see that is talking about two different products. I think once the items sell, i can create my own. I appreciate everyone responding to this.
