Surcharge waived for use of alternative carriers to fulfill Walmart orders
To make it easier for you to fulfill Walmart orders with Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF), we're waiving the 5% surcharge for use of alternative carriers. This fee waiver will be in effect through January 14, 2026.
When you use MCF, you can use your Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory to grow your ecommerce business beyond the Amazon store:
- Reduce out-of-stock rates by 19% on average and improve inventory turnover by 12%*
- Provide fast and reliable fulfillment, including storage, picking, packing, and shipping to Walmart customer
There are two ways to use MCF to fulfill Walmart orders:
- We recommend that you use one of our supported order management apps to connect your Walmart account too MCF so that you can send your Walmart orders automatically. For more information, go to How to use MCF to fulfill orders from Walmart Marketplace.
- Alternatively, to submit manual orders on Seller Central, follow these steps:
- Go to Create MCF Order, and enter the customer address.
- Under Add items, select Only ship with blank boxes and Block Amazon Logistics as a carrier for this order to have orders delivered by alternative carriers. We'll waive the 5% surcharge fee to block Amazon Logistics through January 14, 2026.
- Complete to form, and click Create order.
*Based on data from 590,000 Amazon sellers who used MCF and shipped more than 100 units with FBA in 2023, versus those who only used FBA during the same time period.

Last we heard Walmart expressly forbids the use of Amazon shipping items to their customer both with drop shipping and the use of Amazon's MCF.

But this policy is not to be confused with drop-shipping, which Walmart still prohibits: "You may not purchase products from another retailer and have that retailer ship the order directly to the customer (also known as retail arbitrage)." It's well documented how upset buyers become when they learn their seller on a site like eBay ordered their item from Amazon for less money than they paid.
Importantly, Walmart still prohibits sellers from shipping orders in competitors' boxes or packaging:
"You may use Multi Channel Fulfillment as long as you ship in neutral packaging using unbranded delivery vehicles, which means neither can display any logos, trademarks or branding of the other retailer."
But the revised Walmart policy also explicitly states it allows sellers to use Amazon MCF if they adhere to its policies:
Can I use Amazon Multi Channel Fulfillment (MCF)?
Yes. When using Amazon MCF, you must ship the items in a neutral box and block Amazon Logistics as a carrier to ensure orders aren’t delivered using Amazon-branded vehicles and to comply with Walmart’s shipping and fulfillment policy.
Amazon has no problem with any of it - it allows sellers to use its Multi Channel Fulfillment service to fulfill all off-Amazon platforms and channels:
"MCF is a third-party logistics (3PL) service that fulfills orders for any off-Amazon channel, including brand websites, social media stores, and ecommerce marketplaces. If you're selling on an ecommerce marketplace or social media store, we recommend that you check their guidelines to ensure you adhere to any 3PL requirements for that sales channel."
As Amazon tells sellers who use its MCF to fulfill off-Amazon orders, they should "ensure compliance with marketplace regulations including enrollment in unbranded packaging and blocking Amazon Logistics."
Clearly other marketplaces do not want their orders arriving in Amazon Prime vans with Amazon logos on the boxes, but Amazon's expertise and dominance in logistics makes it a service even retail giants can't ignore - as long as it isn't revealed to their shoppers.
There could be a negative consequence to traditional FBA sellers, however. Multichannel sellers may wish to store more inventory at Amazon fulfillment centers to fulfill their Walmart orders. That increases competition for space in the warehouses.
We've heard a few anecdotal reports that Amazon Fulfillment capacity was being cut for sellers in June, with tariffs and a 4-day Prime Day this year being blamed. And things may get very tight for the holiday shopping season, though Amazon does offer AWD as an upstream storage option.

Yes. When using Amazon MCF, you must ship the items in a neutral box and block Amazon Logistics as a carrier to ensure orders aren’t delivered using Amazon-branded vehicles and to comply with Walmart’s shipping and fulfillment policy.

I was very happy to find out that we can finally ship Walmart order from Amazon,
shipped 5 orders, choose neutral box and blocked Amazon Logistics

my Walmart rating dropped like crazy, had to cancel 3 out of 5 orders, stopped shipping with Amazon immediately to avoid more problems, BE AWARE !!!
