INVALID CHARGE METHOD

Amazon seller central is not allowing me to access any of the area with the following message:

Your access to Seller Central is currently restricted due to an invalid charge method. Register a valid charge method for your seller account and restore full access to Seller Central by clicking 'Update Charge Method'. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours to validate your charge method after updating. For more information, visit our Help Pages.

Although the charge method that Amazon says is invalid is a brand new card and updated. I still added another charge method, but the result is the same.

I believe it is a glitch since I was having the same issue and my credit card is working fine everywhere else. I opened a case a couple of days ago and got no help or solution from Seller Support.

There seem to be workaround for this that someone mentioned in this forum and it worked for me:

1) log in to your Amazon SHOPPING account

2) go to the billing section where your forms of payments are stored

3) set your credit card of choice as your preferred form of payment

4) log in to Amazon Seller Central

5) update your credit card on file making sure you enter the SAME card that you used for your Amazon shopping account.

6) wait a few minutes and your account problem (Invalid charge method) should be resolved

Basically you make sure that both the shopping and the selling account have the same credit card saved as primary form of payment.

It worked for me and hopefully it will work for you.

Good luck!

Hi @Seller_lLzn84jk9av4C

Connor from Amazon here - thanks for getting in touch.

I noticed you're having trouble with card authorization. Could you clarify a few things for me:

  1. Are you using a debit or credit card? (Some debit cards aren't compatible with our system)
  2. Have you checked with your bank? Sometimes they block Amazon authorization charges as a security measure
  3. Could you verify your card meets our requirements? You can find these in our help page here.

Once you've looked into these points, let me know what you find. If you're still experiencing issues, I'll be happy to investigate further on our end.

Best regards,

Connor
