GS1 UPC Code

Hello,

I recently purchased a GS1 UPC as of June 3rd. I started my product listing as of June 5th but before finalizing my submission I received a message on the product identity page for the "product ID" section.

Error Message: "This SKU doesn't match any ASIN and contains invalid values attributes required for creation of a new ASIN"

When checking forums, I found that many said it takes 72 hours from the time the UPC was purchased for it to be registered in Amazon's database. Is this business hours? From there I waited for the allotted time frame for syncing to take place, for me that would have been June 8th. However, to date I'm still receiving the same error message. I read up on more scenarios, and some users said to check if the UPC code purchased is showing registered on the GS1 website. In my case, it is.

I opened up a case on June 14th in relation to the GTIN error received. Submitted, information requested along with screenshots of GS1 Certificate, Error Message with timestamp and Proof of brand name ownership but, since have not heard anything. How long does it typically take for cases to come to a resolution?

Originally, when first creating my case my product title on GS1 differed from the title on Amazon by a few words. When referencing back on forums I seen that the names have to match EXACTLY. So for this I made some changes to my GS1 product title as of June 17th to have this match more of what I wanted to put on Amazon. Giving it 24-48 hours per GS1 for updates to reflect. I now see the changed when checking the verification status to date on GS1 website but unsure if this now will take an additional 72 hours for updates to then generate in Amazon's database before I can try listing again.

Today, I followed up on my case providing the updated screenshots and GTIN certificate along with error message for timestamp to date. It's been 4 days in total and still haven't heard anything back from the initial outreach. Been looking to see what else can be done on my end but no luck on anything further.

Would love it if someone would be able to help assist with my case on next steps. Everything else seems to be in order but the error message is keeping me from being able to finalize and submit. Please help!

This seems like it has been a real ordeal. I'm so sorry it has been difficult. Not only does Amazon use GS1 to determine if UPCs are valid but the Brand information must match the information you provided when you created your Brand/Seller Account on Amazon. If there is any conflict it can cause the difficulties you have experienced. However if you have updated the information it should be able to be reviewed by the internal team. Can you please provide your most recent Seller Support case so I can review? Thank you for your understanding.

We faced the same problem with new product using new upc purchased from GS1. We're told that it is invalid and no solution provided.

Dealing with the same exact issue and Seller Support is just going in circles asking for the same documentation over and over. I have supplied verification screenshots from GS1 as well as the downloaded certifications from GS1. They keep saying "we cannot verify these" - yet anyone can simply by going to GS1 and verifying!

Very frustrating!

This seems like it has been a real ordeal. I'm so sorry it has been difficult. Not only does Amazon use GS1 to determine if UPCs are valid but the Brand information must match the information you provided when you created your Brand/Seller Account on Amazon. If there is any conflict it can cause the difficulties you have experienced. However if you have updated the information it should be able to be reviewed by the internal team. Can you please provide your most recent Seller Support case so I can review? Thank you for your understanding.

Dealing with the same exact issue and Seller Support is just going in circles asking for the same documentation over and over. I have supplied verification screenshots from GS1 as well as the downloaded certifications from GS1. They keep saying "we cannot verify these" - yet anyone can simply by going to GS1 and verifying!

Very frustrating!
