Amazon won't help with fraud buyer issue.

We sold two products on Amazon in one order. We knew how they were packaged and they were with USPS in a larger sized box. The buyer then sends a picture of a beat up box and also says that everything is missing besides one of the accessories. So they send back the one accessory. Essentially stealing everything valuable while getting a refund. We know it was stolen because one of the products was attached (like heavily screwed in) to the accessory they are saying arrived.

Then today they place another order for the same products. Mind you this is $200+ worth of product. I notice the phone number is odd and I google it. There are forum discussions about this buyer from 4 years ago, 5 years ago, etc. At least 20 posts about this phone number scamming sellers.

I said wow Amazon will want to hear this. So I call seller support and the support person tells me that since it is a seller fulfilled order there is nothing they can do. I told them can you at least not let this affect my cancellation rate when I cancel the order? They said no, that I needed to contact this buyer (the scammer!) and work a deal out. I said surely this is not the right procedure for this and she told me yes that the only thing I can do is either send the person (scammer!) the order or message them and work out a deal. I told the support person about how there are threads on this phone number ...[Moderator Edit: Phone Number Removed]... being a bad buyer. This person also tries to re-route the package once it ships. In our case it was shipped from us to a city and then when I track the order it was delivered to an entirely different city.

So 1. Amazon has reports of a fraudulent transaction and buyer. The reports are extensive and go back 5+ years. 2. They say there is nothing I can do to stop negative feedback on me. 3. They won't ban the fraud

It's unfortunate, but FBM sellers don't really have any recourse when it comes to this. If you can handle the 7 days pre-cancellation ding to your metrics, then just cancel it. Or you can take pictures of everything before and after you package the order and send to the buyer when shipped to let them know you have documented it.

"Amazon has reports of a fraudulent transaction and buyer. The reports are extensive and go back 5+ years"

The advice from @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9 is a decent start as long as your metrics are OK.

I don't have a solution for Amazon allowing theft and fraud BUT if this was shipped using the USPS please report the issue to the Postal Inspectors as mail fraud. If not, report it to the carrier.

ALSO the Government has a site IC3 (Amazon will remove the link if I put it here but it’s part of the FBI for an easy search) where you can report the use of the internet for theft if it was UPS, FedEx or whatever. It is generally used to report on websites but it can be used to report buyers as well if you happen to encounter one of the Amazon scam crowd.

In all cases it at least puts the con artists into a data base for future reference by the authorities.

There's an OLD saying -- If you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem.

PLEASE REPORT, REPORT, REPORT, REPORT.

And, DO NOT forget the Police Department where you are, as well as where the 'buyer' is!
