Who is a responsible for a Porch Pirate

It seems one of my packages was a victim of a Porch Pirate

It was shipped and scanned on the correct time (Thankfully UPS scans better than USPS) and shipped via amazon shipping

Item shows delivered according to UPS website

Customer claims he is a victim of a porch pirate

Who is responsible for this?

It boils down to the fact that the buyer did not receive the package.

Unless you have signature, you have no proof of delivery.

Since you used Amazon buy-shipping, advise the buyer to open a claim for non-receipt. Amazon has promised to pay the claim and not have the claim impact your metrics.

We suggest contacting UPS for delivery details and local authorities for assistance. While delivery responsibility typically shifts after delivery confirmation, we understand the concern and advise implementing security measures. Please reach out for further support.

Hi @Seller_h0WaPqGtY5LRD,

@Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl has given great advice here so I just waned to provide a couple of resources that I think will help as well.

If you utilized Amazon buy shipping, you will be protected against claims where a customer reports problems with delivery. You can learn more about the benefits of Amazon Buy Shipping here.

Additionally, if this customer does claim non receipt of the item through an A-to-Z claim, you may see that show up in your A-to-Z Guarantee Claims page under Performance in Seller Central. It may require an appeal on your part, but you can follow the steps laid out here to file your appeal.

If you need to input an appeal, please be sure to clarify that you did the following:

  1. Utilized Amazon Buy Shipping for the shipping label
  2. Shipped on or before the Ship By Date (tracking must show the first scan was on or before the ship by date)

Hopefully this information is helpful. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need any further assistance with this order.
