I cannot update "size" attribute on my brand's listings [updated]
I discovered that "Size" is a calculated field based on "Unit Count" and "Number of Items". So, in my specific case where I'm selling a 12 pack of drinks and each can is 12 Fl Oz, my "Unit Count" is 144 fluid ounces and my "Number of Items" should be set to 12. Amazon then does the math for "Size" to show "12 Fl Oz (pack of 12). Originally, I had "Number of Items" set to 1 since the customer was receiving one case. Amazon was then doing the math and calculating my "Size" as 1.13 gallons (pack of 1).
I cannot believe that I submitted over 8 cases on this and spent countless hours with Amazon agents and nobody new this! How come nobody along the way, including Michelle, was like, "Oh, "Size" is not a free-form field you can just override. It is a function of "Unit Count" and "Number of Items"? Instead, they had me delete my listings and relist countless times (and wait the painstaking 24-48hrs to see if the updates worked) which, in the end, caused a new headache for me because Amazon created new ASINs and FNSKUs for my SKUs on my last update attempt. So now I have FBA inventory against my original ASINs and FNSKUs and nobody at Amazon seems to know what will happen to it. And the saddest part, nobody seems to care. I'm just a case # to them.
So here I am now on case # 15 dealing with this new problem of trying to get the old FNSKUs mapped back to my SKUs so my listing can be active again and we can start selling! The response I keep getting: "It can't be done". I don't believe this. I think what they are really saying is, "I don't know how to do this, nor do I really care". Afterall, nobody there knew that "Size" was a calculated field, which is extremely disconcerting.
I've worked with databases and ERP systems my entire career and this seems like the easiest fix. I bet you if Amazon granted me access to their system, I could have this solved in a matter of minutes. No joke. Instead, I have to hope and pray that at some point I'll encounter a service rep who is competent enough, and who cares enough, to get this issue fixed. The odds of this happening seem quite dismal at the moment.
And the cherry on top? I just got hit with a Seller Code of Conduct violation for "requested changes from an ASIN to another ASIN that does not match the product being offered under the current ASIN." As part of the appeal process they want me to upload proof that I'm the registered brand owner and I'm thinking to myself, "you literally have a case ID under brand registry proving that I'm the registered brand owner"!
