DHL Buy Shipping Adjustment Incorrect Outrageous Charges
Hi Amazon Team,
I have 26 orders that were affected by 'Adjustment' charges. These charges are incorrect and appear to be based on false data. Amazon Case ID: 17832140561
The reason given is: "The shipping services purchased for the package did not match the carrier-reported charge for shipping the package."
However, the issue lies with DHL not applying the discounted shipping rates available through Amazon, which has led to unusually high adjustment charges.
For example, I entered the following dimensions and weight at the time of shipment:
Dimensions (LxWxH): 20.0 x 11.0 x 14.0 cm
Package Weight: 1.008 kg
DHL's reweigh and remeasure data lists:
Dimensions: 6.8 x 4.9 x 8.4 cm
Package Weight: 1.1 kg
Even using DHL’s revised measurements, the adjustment charge of –$90.62 is excessive and does not reflect the corporate discounted rates I should receive through DHL’s Amazon Buy Shipping..
All 26 orders have either incorrect remeasurement data or unreasonably high adjustments. As a result, I am incurring a total loss of approximately $1,700 in shipping adjustments.
I kindly request that these charges be thoroughly reviewed and refunded as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi @Seller_mzMT8U7zOMlPv
Connor from Amazon here. I sincerely understand your concern about these shipping adjustment charges - $1,700 in unexpected costs is significant and I can see why you're alarmed by the discrepancies in the measurements and rates.
I want to assure you that I've reviewed all the details you've provided about the 26 affected orders, and your case is currently under active review with our partner team. While I don't have an immediate resolution, we're investigating this thoroughly and will ensure you're only charged appropriately.
I'll keep you updated on any developments. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this.
Best Regards,
Connor

oh my god! i am now writing and raising a case for EXACT the same issue with DHL. Before submitting the case, I just came here to see if there are other sellers having the same issue. Here we go.
I normally do not check the 'transactions' under 'payment'. while today, I am shocked to see that there are so many 'adjustment charges' from DHL's buy shipping.

Do not use DHL on Amazon. They have been doing this for years and Amazon is aware.

Are these domestic or international? I got hit with a 100 percent tariff on a 500.00 item going to Brazil. I don't know why Amazon can't calculate and charge the tariffs to the customer ahead of time for FBM orders but can on FBA. Needless to say I am done with international shipping. 20 years ago there was none of this bs and I could ship 2 pounds anywhere on earth for 5 or 6 dollars.

Hi @Seller_mzMT8U7zOMlPv
Has your case been solved? This thread has been here for a while and no one is talking now. I do not know if everyone is waiting for amazon's pending action or problem solved? For my case, it has been a week now, it still shows pending action from amazon. HOWEVER, it is an ongoing case, not past sense, and my money is being charged in 'adjustment' EVERY DAY. I do not know: 1. If this case will be solved one day and how long? 2. those extra charges happened before, will amazon or DHL finally pay back to me?
worried and frustrated!

We were charged more than $100 for ever freakin shipment in the name of adjustment, when we talk to Amazon support they said DHL is right and our package dimensions were entered inaccurately by DHL, we provided all proofs to Amazon but they didn't reimburse a single penny. We stopped selling on Amazon Canada after that.

Was this resolved? This is happening to us too by UPS and USPS.

Piggybacking onto this conversation ... I am considering using DHL today for the first time for an international order to Australia; there's a drop-off location nearby. Very reasonable ($24); Amazon/Veeqo and even ShipStation are not showing USPS rates at all and the latter notes "address partially validated" as a warning.
(Amazon/Shipstation show UPS rates exceeding $100 which is not workable.)
I am concerned about any AFTER-THE-FACT charges -- ie. ADJUSTMENTS. I understand this is a DDP service, yet Amazon has already collected the 10% GST on the $75 total (most of which is shipping). So I wouldn't think any more fees are due.
Am I likely to be safe, or will I get burned? Otherwise, I will need to cancel the order, or possibly use GlobalPost (which I'm getting set up with today) if that address works.
