Hello amazon seller i'm new
Hello everyone,
I'm new seller in my account amazon.ae UAE. and i' need to your support
I hope you’re all doing well. I’m reaching out to ask for some guidance regarding my Amazon seller account. Recently, my Order Defect Rate (ODR) increased to 11.1%, which is above the acceptable threshold of 1%, and my account is now marked as at risk of deactivation.
The increase is mainly due to a single negative feedback that significantly affected the metric. I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced a similar situation and could share how they managed to resolve it.
I’d really appreciate any insights on the best steps to take whether it’s contacting Amazon Seller Support or implementing other preventive measures to bring the ODR back down.
Thank you in advance for your time and advice. I truly value any suggestions or experiences you can share.
Best regards,

I’m interested in exploring a simple collaboration where I support your sales efforts on a commission basis (around 2%), if that’s something you’re open to.
If it’s easier, we can also continue the conversation on WhatsApp at your convenience.
Thank you for your time, and I’d be happy to hear your thoughts.

Hello store_product_store,
This is Jimmy from amazon. I am here to assist you with your concern. I understand your concern about your Order Defect Rate (ODR) increasing to 11.1% and the risk this poses to your account.
I want to provide you with clear guidance on the best path forward to protect your selling account.
Understanding Your ODR
Your Order Defect Rate is a critical performance metric that reflects the quality of your customer experience. The acceptable threshold is below 1%, and your current rate of 11.1% indicates that immediate action is needed. While a single negative feedback can significantly impact your metrics, especially as a new seller with limited order history, the focus should be on sustainable improvement rather than seeking exceptions.
Recommended Next Steps
Rather than contacting Seller Support for this issue, I encourage you to take proactive steps to improve your account health:
- Identify the Root Cause: Review the negative feedback and any related customer complaints to understand what went wrong. Was it related to product quality, shipping delays, customer service, or product descriptions?
- Implement Preventive Measures: Based on your findings, take concrete actions to prevent similar issues:
- Ensure product listings accurately describe your items
- Improve packaging to prevent damage during shipping
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries
- Set realistic delivery expectations
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stockouts
- Focus on Positive Performance: As you fulfill new orders successfully, your ODR will naturally decrease. Each successful transaction helps dilute the impact of past defects.
- Monitor Your Account Health: Regularly check your Account Health page in Seller Central to track your progress and stay informed about your performance metrics.
Important Reminder
The best approach is to work proactively on improving your metrics through excellent customer service and operational improvements. This will build a sustainable foundation for your business on Amazon.
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please feel free to share updates on your progress or ask questions as you work to improve your account health.
