Amazon’s Policy on Selling Infant Car Seats and Fabric Systems in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

What is an Infant Car Seat and Fabric systems?

An Infant car seat, or a booster seat, is a seat designed specifically to protect children from injury or death during vehicle collisions.

Fabric systems, also known as Fabric Car Seats, are products made of fabric (nylon, cotton, etc.) with straps, clips and padding, intended to restrain a child in a car. These products lack any type of metal or hard plastic frame. They are foldable and lightweight.

What is Amazon’s policy on selling Infant Car Seats and Fabric systems in the UAE?

Amazon does not allow the listing and sale of the Fabric systems listed above.

If you are selling Infant Car Seats, you may be asked to provide documents to confirm the safety and compliance of your products. Amazon requires documentation that indicates testing compliance with standards or regulations for each product you are applying to sell.

Infant Car Seats must meet the standard and regulation requirements listed below:

Product Regulation/Standard Requirements
Car seats and boosters (excluding Fabric systems)

Homologation certificate illustrating compliance to one of the following:

  • UNECE R 44/4 for regular car seat

    OR

  • UNECE R 129 standards for ISOfix seats

    OR

  • FMVSS 213
Note: You certify that all materials you submit are true, authentic, and accurate. Amazon may remove your selling privileges for failing to meet these safety requirements.

What information do I need to provide to Amazon when requested?

Amazon’s policies require that Infant Car Seats sold through the Amazon website meet our certification standards. Have the following documents available at all times. If you are contacted by Amazon requesting documents, please submit the following information to mea-life-safety-equipment@amazon.ae

  1. Company name
  2. Seller/Vendor ID
  3. Confirm your products are intended for sale on amazon.ae
  4. Email address
  5. Phone number
  6. A list of ASINs you are applying to sell
  7. For each ASIN you wish to list, please provide product images showing:
    1. ECE approval label demonstrating compliance with CRS or ECRS or FMVSS 213 or UNECE
    2. ECAS or Emirate Quality Mark (EQM)
    3. Languages in which the manual is provided
    4. Name and address of manufacturer or UAE based importer in case the manufacturer is based outside UAE
    Note: Any written warning/product manuals needs to be in Arabic, or Arabic and English.
  8. Certificate of Conformity illustrating compliance to one of the following:
    • UNECE R 44/4 for regular car seat

      OR

    • UNECE R 129 standards for ISOfix seats

      OR

    • FMVSS 213

What will happen if I do not follow Amazon’s policy on selling Infant Car Seats?

If you do not provide the required information, Amazon may:

  • Cancel your listing
  • Suspend your listing privileges
  • Suppress your ASIN(s)

Amazon reserves the right to take any further actions that are necessary and to make judgments in its sole discretion about whether or not a listing is appropriate.

How do I request removal of my products from Amazon Fulfillment centers?

If you do not appeal the suppression on your ASIN(s) or your appeal is unsuccessful, you have 30 days to create removal orders on your products from our fulfillment centers from the day you receive the suppression notification, after which Amazon may dispose of your products.
