Amazon International Partnered Carrier program FAQ

What is the relationship between Amazon and the carrier?

Amazon offers the Partnered Carrier program to assist sellers looking to inbound inventory into Amazon fulfillment centers. The shipping services are provided by the carrier and not Amazon. Amazon only facilitates your engagement of the carrier to provide these services. These services are provided independently of Amazon and the there is no agency relationship between the carrier and Amazon.

I ship my products to Amazon directly from the manufacturer or distributor. Can I still use the Partnered Carrier program?

Yes, provided the products are in a country covered by the Partnered Carrier program and the manufacturer or distributor accepts to use the carrier. All you need are the shipment details while creating the shipment in Seller Central.

For example, you will need to know the number of boxes and the accurate weight and dimensions of each box to get an estimated rate and print shipping labels. Enter the manufacturer’s address as the ship from location. Once you print the labels, send them to your manufacturer. Alternatively, you can also email the label to the manufacturer for them to print and paste on the shipment.

What do I do if there are problems with the pickup?

Amazon does not provide the shipping services, only the carrier. The carrier will coordinate with you directly to agree a pickup slot before the selected pickup date. If in case you do not hear from the carrier before the selected pickup date or have any other problems with the pickup, then you can contact the carrier Cititrans on +86 181-0280-6672.

Important: The carrier Cititrans is for pickups in China only.

Can I get a confirmation receipt from Cititrans after the driver picks up my partnered carrier shipment?

Yes, you should be able to get a confirmation receipt from Cititrans drivers. Drivers are required to scan all packages at the seller’s location during pickup. This “origin scan” is the official record that Cititrans has possession of the shipment, but you may want to ask the driver for a confirmation receipt as well. You can see the origin scan as part of the tracking history on the Seller Central Shipment Summary page under the Track Shipment and Shipment Events tab.

What are shipment weight, dimensional weight, and billable weight?

Shipment weight is the actual weight of your shipment based on the weight per box that you provide in the shipment packing information. Dimensional weight reflects package density based on the carton dimensions that you provide in the shipment packing information. We use the higher of the two weights as the billable weight for small parcel shipments.

What are the maximum weight and dimensions? Is there a minimum charge?

The following limitations apply:

  • Maximum weight per package is 80 kg
  • Maximum package size shall not exceed 100 x 100 x 140 cm
  • Minimum charge is for 5 kg

How is shipping cost estimated?

We estimate shipping cost based on the shipment packing information you provide (box weights and dimensions), product category and the billable weight. You are responsible for providing accurate shipment information and for the actual cost of the shipment. Providing inaccurate information may result in the blocking of future shipments to the fulfillment center, or an additional charge. The estimated shipping cost includes all the cost involved in the shipping, including custom duties and taxes.

What if my shipment contains dangerous goods (also called hazardous materials or hazmat) or my product is not yet classified as dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods are prohibited on partnered carrier shipments and you will need to send any shipment that contains dangerous goods with your own carrier. For more information, see Examples of products that may be regulated as dangerous goods.

Can I get an invoice copy for the partnered carrier service?

Amazon will not issue an invoice to you for the partnered carrier service. Amazon is not providing the carrier service but instead only facilitates you entering into a contract with the carrier. The carrier provides the services directly to you. The carrier will email you the invoice in a .PDF format to your registered email address.
