Stranded inventory is FBA inventory in fulfillment centers that does not have an associated active offer, and, as a result, is not available for sale on Amazon.
If you have stranded inventory, a Fix Stranded Inventory link appears at the top of the Manage Inventory page. If you do not see this link, you do not have stranded inventory.
If you have stranded inventory, you may not be able to ship additional units of the product that is stranded to an Amazon fulfillment center. If that happens, during shipment creation, you will see a stranded inventory alert if you add a product with stranded inventory to your shipment. See below for ways to resolve stranded inventory issues.

Alternatively, you can fix all of your stranded inventory at once by using a tab-delimited text (.txt) file. For more information, see Bulk Fix Stranded Inventory.
Inventory can become stranded for a number of reasons. If an active offer is closed or set to Fulfilled by Merchant, the corresponding inventory will become stranded. Blocked listings or attempting to sell in restricted categories or brands without approval can also result in stranded inventory. Another common issue is that offers may be missing important information (such as price or item condition), which prevents those offers from becoming active.
If you have a professional selling account, you can fulfill orders using Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) (may not be available in your region) without having an active offer. Ensure that your product meets the MCF guidelines by setting your selling start date to the far future and maintaining sales.
For more information, refer to the Multi-Channel Fulfillment help page (may not be available in your region).
